President Roosevelt Inaugural Address Primary Source Analysis

Students will read and analyze excerpts from Teddy Roosevelt's 1905 Inaugural Address by answering 22 questions and completing 2 extension tasks. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--What is an example from the historical context that supports your answer to #1?
--Under what circumstances would America fail?
--Has America acted in line with Roosevelt’s sentiments, why or why not?
--Rewrite the 4th paragraph in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--How should Americans face the future and why?
--In this context, what does “gravity” mean? 
--Citing evidence from the text, was this more domestic or internationally focused? Given the context of the times, why would Roosevelt have had said focus?
--Where in the text was TR most presidential and why?
