Description
How do you retell a story? What are the words you use to keep your storry in order?
A lesson plan on sequencing a story for 2nd/3rd graders begins with reading a short story aloud, then discussing its main events. Students would identify the beginning, middle, and end of the story, using pictures or sentence strips to arrange key events in order. For retelling, they would use transition words like "first," "next," "then," and "finally" to narrate the story in their own words. As an activity, students could work in pairs to retell the story to each other, ensuring that they sequence the events correctly using the transition words they’ve learned.
