Description
Shark Bite! is a fun and exciting way to have your students practicing their first grade sight word recognition skills! You can use Shark Bite! in a center, partnership, or in a table group!
The sight words featured in this game are: went, now, which, out, then, there, by, good, who, them, many, start, right, why, how, over, under, give, too, try, found, know, all, where. (A blank card sheet is included to add any additional sight words!)
There are two ways to play this game:
Option 1: Lay all of the cards face down on the table. Take turns flipping over the a card and reading the word. If you read the word correctly you may keep the card. If you read it incorrectly you must flip it back over. If a player flips over a Shark Bite! card, that player must get rid of all of their cards. The player with the most cards in the end wins!
Option 2: This option is similar to SlapJack. Shuffle and pass out all cards evenly. Players will take turns flipping the card over on the top of their deck. Players must flip the card away from them so they cannot see the card beforehand. Once flipped the player must read the word on the card. When a player flips over a Shark Bite! card the first person to "slap/bite" the card keeps the pile. The player with the most cards in the end wins.
Please laminate the cards for best long term use!
