Description
Welcome! This listing features a full-page work, force, and distance problem set for physical science. The eight mini story problems on this worksheet present students with values for two of the variables in the work equation, leaving students with the task of solving for the unknown variable. The top margin on both sides of the student worksheet includes the work equation next to the units of measurement for each symbolized variable. I also inserted the work equation set up in a triangle for students who prefer using the triangle method to solve the problems.
I included a key with the answers in red bold font. Each answer shows the baseline equation set up for the isolated variable next to the intermediate step with the placement of values in the equation. I rounded each empirical answer to honor the multiplication and division rule of significant figures.
In the problem set, students solve for the work required, force, or distance of objects that need to be moved, such as a snowmobile with bad spark plugs across a shop floor, a large rock blocking a mountainous trail, a tackling dummy at football practice, the strings of a compound bow preceding the firing of the arrow, a sedated black bear for research, two children in a sled across a snowfield, a commercial garbage toter that needs to be pulled out to the end of a driveway, and a suitcase that needs to be pulled across a very long airport concourse.
