6 Word Story Challenge English literature Narrative Writing Prompt

Challenge your students with their next warm-up, or writing prompt. It can be a great share-out, read-aloud, and class sharing project afterwards as well. This short assignment is influenced by Ernest Hemingway's idea of a 6-word story. Something that could stand on its own, and tell its own story. It is a great example of how impactful words can be when limited. Encourage students to think critically and analyze each word's significance as they write and share.
