Description
This Industrial Revolution Amazing race, is a CUSTOMIZABLE game in which multiple teams of 2-3 students compete to make it to the finish line first. Teams strive to arrive first at a pit stop and then to avoid coming in last place. In this race all tasks are completed as a team. This game has been designed to challenge students ability to collaborate, think critically, and solve problems effectively.
Students will learn these parts of the Industrial Revolution:
1. What was the Industrial Revolution?
2. Where did the Industrial Revolution begin?
3. When did it start in the United States?
4. Steamboat
5. Cotton Gin
6. Interchangeable Parts
7. Telegraph
8. Railroads
9. The Bessemer Steel Process
10. Lowell Mills
Students will have to succeed in physical and mental challenges along the course. Each of these is described & illustrated in video links to demonstrate how each is played. Finally, before crossing the finish line, students will work together to complete a "mini" Urban Game to tie everything that they learned together.
