Description

Students will read a primary source about America's entry into World War 1 and Wilson's decision to ask Congress to declare war against Germany. They will answer 17 questions, analyze 6 images, and complete a creative task involving 3 points of view. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Explain the 2 main reasons that Wilson was pushed to ask Congress to declare a state of war between America and Germany.
--What were the three main factors Wilson laid awake at night considering before asking for a war declaration? Which do you think most influenced Wilson's decision?
--Provide a contextually appropriate synonym for, “melee.”
--Why did Cobb think America could not stay out of the war?
--The source essentially tells us that Wilson had to choose between the lesser of two evils. Do you think he chose correctly? Why or why not?
