Description

"Was Andrew Jackson a Hero or a Villain?" is the question your students are going write about and discuss with their classmates in this collaborative poster project. Each student is given a piece of the puzzle with a writing prompt that they complete to show an understanding of the topic. Next, they are given the opportunity to be creative and color their page however they like! My students absolutely love doing these! The task is very simple, but it brings out an enormous amount of student-to-student interaction. When students begin to put their puzzle together they are explaining why they believe Jackson is a Hero or a Villain.

There is individual work and whole class discussions that take place and that's why this is one of my favorite lessons we do in our class. I love assignments that allow my students to be creative, they have a specific task to complete, they can have, and. meaningful conversations with classmates.

The final poster will be 5 x 5, however, there are extra poster pieces if you have a class larger than 25.

This file comes with instructions and two posters, a large poster for whole class and a 4 page and 2 page poster for smaller groups.

Needs:

8.5 x 11 copy paper

Colored pencils/crayons

Tape
