Description
Bring history to life by developing an understanding of the teachings of Buddhism for your students. Students will explore their happiness and suffering while learning about Siddhartha's life and teachings. They will practice mindfulness and meditation then apply it to their own life all in one hour! While this simulation was made for Ancient History, it is a great reteach of Buddhism when teaching China in Early to Medieval World History.
Topics covered
- Siddhartha Gautama
- Four Noble Truths
- Eightfold Path
- Dharma
The activity concludes with a day two letter writing workshop where students will reflect on their own happiness and whether they follow the Eightfold Path. There is even a modified letter handout to help all students.
