This resource includes three activity pages and their answer keys. The passage is written at a 5th grade reading level and is accompanied with a matching activity (8 prompts), multiple choice activity (10 prompts), a summarizing activity, an informational writing activity, and a narrative writing activity. All answer keys are included.

The objective of this activity is for students to be able to explain the key events and people of the Civil Rights movement: Brown vs. Board of Education, Montgomery Bus Boycott, The March on Washington, Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, and civil rights activities of Thurgood Marshall, Lyndon B. Johnson, Cesar Chavez, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

This objective and resources aligns with Georgia Standards of Excellence and Common Core ELA, but can supplement many state standards.
