Description
Are you looking for a "hands-on" way to introduce the 3 colonial regions?
- Students will open brown lunch bags to discover items related to the economy, religion and geography of the 3 colonial regions. Students will sort these items to predict or review the 3 regions.
You will receive:
- Detailed teacher instructions
- Lists of items to use in the bags
- Images to cut out for each region
- A picture of each sort (what I used) for each region (as an example)
- An exit ticket to use with students for formative assessment
Why do students love it?
- They are collaborating in groups!
- It's hands-on!
- It's a unique way to do an introduction to a unit
Why to teachers love it?
- Once you've prepped this activity, you can use it year after year.
- It's a great "HOOK" activity that you can refer back to for the rest of the year
- You can use this activity as an introduction to the Colonial Regions or as a wrap up "did you get it" activity.
- I love to pull it out MONTHS later to review for our STARR test!
- Your students will be engaged in your unit
