It's time to change how you teach art history to your students! In this lesson, students will be placed into five groups. Each group will be assigned one artwork: Funeral Banner of Lady Dai, Chairman Mao en route to Anyuan, Night Attack on the Sanjô Palace, Portrait of Sin Sukju, or Gold and Jade Crown. Step 1: Students will read their assigned artwork article. Step 2: Students will complete three activities based on their assigned artwork -- a guided visual analysis, multiple choice questions, and an artist statement Instagram post. They will place their completed packet into a file folder. Step 3: Students will swap file folders with other groups and complete the activities the other groups prepared.
Note: Students will briefly need scissors to complete this activity.
