Entrepreneurs During the Industrial Revolution

This lesson is designed to last for 3 days of class time.  Students will be provided with background information about the inventions and inventors of the Industrial Revolution

They will show what they know by completing engaging classroom activities and answering various depths of knowledge of questions related to the lesson.

1.) Students will follow directions and complete a variety of tasks individually and in groups to recall, identify, and apply specific vocabulary words.

2.) Students will listen critically to interpret and make inferences during specific tasks.

3.) Students will build their background knowledge about several entrepreneurs during the Industrial Revolution through the completion of several tasks.

4.) Students will identify and recognize the impact entrepreneurs made during the Industrial Revolution.

5.) Students will be challenged to use their high order thinking skills and creativity to complete various tasks.

6.) Students will use information from secondary sources to support information they use when writing their biographies about entrepreneurs then and now.

7.) Students will apply what they learned through teacher-led instruction and the handouts to various open-ended response questions related to the entrepreneurs of the Industrial Revolution that will challenge their critical thinking skills.

8.) Students will demonstrate their ability to write in 3rd person.
