Learning Target: Students can analyze and explain the five themes of geography through the creation of authentic products.
This activity includes 10 activity squares that address different multiple intelligences based on the study of The Five Themes of Geography. This menu of activities can be used as a formative or summative assessment. There are two activities per theme listed on the choice board and students must choose and complete one activity per theme. Activities can be modified for your group and/or unit of study. Includes grading rubric. Document is completely editable to meet your needs.
Topics Covered:
Region: Landforms, climate, soil, vegetation, economics, social, political, cultural characteristics, formal, functional, and vernacular regions, local government and local agencies
Place: Tourism, customs, celebrations, travel destinations
Location: Geography, weather, natural and man made features, economics, landmarks
Movement: Impact of movement, factors that cause movement, traveling, movement of goods, people, and ideas, immigration, transportation routes
Human-Environment Interaction: Impact on environment, deforestation, impact of current events on the United States
