Description
Pizza Math Project that includes: Creating fractions, comparing fractions, fraction word problems, creating word problems, elapsed time, telling time and graphing!
If your students find themselves ordering take out pizza during this time have them keep the box and do the project with it! Makes it more realistic and definitely more engaging and fun!
I have chosen standards we have worked on in Bridges math in 3rd grade so far that encompass a bunch of different skills.
There is an embedded Seesaw link and Google classroom link if you would like your students to do it all online on their seesaw account OR you can print it for parents for them to pick up at your school OR email it to them to print at home for their child to do. Lots of options!
It also includes a link for easy little pizzas the kids could potentially make at home to incorporate fractions in the real form!
**Also there is a rubric at the end for grading!
Make sure to checkout TeacherSorce for other great activities, projects, games and more!

Great for Summer work as well!
Cute unit on math! I did pizza part with my nieces while waiting for a pizza we ordered-they fought over who would get to put THEIR pizza in the box! So cute, and even the little one (5 years old) got the basic idea of the fractions! I would use this as a summer project for kids. It's fun and helpful!

Fraction Pizza Project
This is the kind of classroom-tested resource that teachers come to these sites looking for. It teaches a hard-to-learn topic (fractions and more) with the kid-friendly topic of pizza. I love that they're encouraged to use real pizza boxes, to make up their own problems and to use their own fave toppings. The distance learning options are very timely right now. A well done product. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this product in exchange for my honest review.

The video preview was so handy! I used this with my kids this summer in our homeschool. Making the Pizzas was so much fun. We spent a week with all sorts of pizza themed activities and you guessed it - ended with a pizza party! Suitable for grades 2-5.

Fraction Pizza Project
I love the idea that students are using their knowledge of fractions to solve and create problems about pizza. This provides students with a tangible real world application of fractions.
