Description
FRACTION REVIEW is HERE!!! Are your students ready to start your upcoming fractions chapters? No doubt, when you are mid-year into your grade 3, 4, or 5 math program and your FRACTIONS units are right around the corner, you begin to make some calculations on how prepared your current group of students are to learn the new content. How much do they remember from last year? What have they mastered? Are they ready to move forward? Do you review? Do they need extra practice?
Activities include:
✭Fractions or Whole Numbers?
✭Dividing Wholes
✭Naming Fractions
✭Making Fractions
✭Identifying Fractions
✭Naming Fractional Parts 1
✭Naming Fractional Parts 2
✭Shading Fractional Parts
✭Shaded/Unshaded
✭Compare to One Half
✭Read/Write Fractions
✭Fractions Equal to One
If you are like us you know that investing in a few days of review has a HUGE pay-off for you AND your students, especially when it comes to a mathematics concept like FRACTIONS! That is why my SPED co-teacher and I developed this 12 Activity Refresher Unit for our 3rd/4th grade inclusion students.
This unit is no-frills. It's not fancy or cutesy. It's straight-forward and has enough practice to ensure that your students "get-it" without them feeling overwhelmed. Exactly what we wanted for our for our fabulous mix of general ed. and special ed. students.
We use all of the pages in the order you find them here. We find this progression works best for our students before we move on to more complicated fraction concepts (which we also rewrite!) You can use them the same way we do or pick and choose those you prefer.
