Description
Do you need an interesting reading passage that's perfect for Black History Month? This is a non-fiction reading passage for middle school or high school that includes critical thinking questions about Nat Turner's Rebellion. One of the reasons I created this is because I think it is very important for my students to learn about how enslaved people resisted. This resource also focuses on literacy skills using a historical topic.
Although it is a good resource for Black History Month, it would also be useful for units on the age of exploration, an introduction to the Civil War, or a unit that examines the American slave trade. In addition, it could be incorporated into an ELA classroom at any time of the year.
This product includes:
- Reading passage
- Critical thinking questions
