Description

Analyzing Artifacts:
The main goal of this lesson is for students to analyze various artifacts and make inferences about what different ancient civilizations were like
 
*Please note to get the best out of images for the activity, ipads or computers should be utilized so that students can see these images in the best quality possible*

For the activity, there are 3 different options, using 5 different Artifact Sets
Resources:
 
5 Artifacts include multiple high-quality images from Egypt, Greece, the Minoans, India, and China
 
Optional Resource – Artifact descriptions: If you want to give your students some more information to work with, descriptions of each artifact have been included
 - Version A: Print out version that fits on one page and can be handed out to students
 - Version B: The description of each artifact takes up a whole page and can get placed behind each artifact
 
Activity Options:
 - Activity Option 1 – Students select one (1) artifact and answer the various questions based on this artifact
 - Activity Option 2 – Students select one (1) artifact and use the “Analyze the Artifact” worksheet to help them analyze it
 - Activity Option 3 - Students use all 5 artifacts and complete the worksheet provided
 
- Worksheet examples/keys are provided for each activity option
-A resource is also included that contains descriptions and other information about these artifacts that could be used as a key
 
This lesson has been adapted for digital learning.  Students can use apps such as LuminPDF or Dochub to complete and submit the fillable PDF files.
