Description
Students will read and analyze Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, "I Have a Dream" speech by answering 15 questions and completing a comprehension task. A website is provided where students can access the letter due to its copyright status. An answer key is included where appropriate. If your students have internet access this could work for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Identify at least 3 ways he was able to say they still were not free.
--Provide a contextually appropriate synonym for, “languished.”
--How does he describe the differences between segregation and equality and why?
--Summarize the main point of the answer to, “when will you be satisfied.”
--Explain the significance of this speech on the Civil Rights Movement.
