Description
This is an activity appropriate for grades K-2 that aligns with the Common Core Standards in Literature and Math. You can use it as a center based activity. Ideally it should be introduced after reading Inch by Inch by Leo Lionni. Included are 4 color pictures (seagull, turkey, bees, and toucan) and 6 B&W pictures (spider and web, hummingbird, eagle, frog, parrot, and a flower) for students to measure. The B&W pictures can be colored in with crayons or markers prior to use. Students can measure them with standard 6 inch or 12 inch rulers. Additionally they can use the one inch inchworms which are included on a separate sheet. The inchworms can also be colored and need to be cut out prior to using in a center.
