Description
Whether your students are in the classroom or doing distance learning, this interactive book report created in Google Slides can help. It is generic enough to fit just as well with fiction or nonfiction. It gives students opportunities to do more than just list topics or retell the plot. They will find a photo of their book cover and think about why it was used; do a small bit of online research about their author; think and write a little about their book’s genre; summarize the book and think about questions it inspires; and rate the book on a 5-star scale after writing a short book review.
This book report is completely paperless, since students cut and paste or type answers directly into the digital notebook. It includes a link to an author website, allowing them to read a short biography of their author and visit the author’s official website. It also links to some explanation and examples of various literary genres. It can be used by students as they read independently at home or at school. Instructions on how to assign it in Google Classroom are included.
