King Tutankhamun Webquest

Students will learn about the discovery and excavation of King Tut's tomb by completing a 27 question webquest. They will visit a second website to answer one question and complete a creative task to work with King Tut's historical context. They will then visit a third website to learn about the various theories for the cause of his death and they will answer a two part question. There are links at the end for students to see additional images of the contents of the tomb and to a 10 minute video on conservation efforts today. The answers are included where appropriate and if your students have access to technology this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--How is Lord Carnarvon connected to the discovery?
--Why did Carter believe he was getting closer to a breakthrough discovery?
--What purpose did the candles serve?
--Why would it have been important to photograph each item where and how it was discovered before being removed from the tomb?
--Identify 3 challenges Carter and his team faced in cataloging and emptying the Antechamber.
--Explain the frustration, or disappointment, Carter experienced when the mummy was revealed.
--How did the King Tut’s tomb curse originate?
