OBJECTIVE
• highlight the importance of language learning and encourage citizens to learn two or more languages
• promote all the languages of Europe and the cultural diversity that they represent
• encourage people of all ages to learn new languages all their life not just while they are in school
• It is a day to alert the public to the importance of language learning to increase pluralism and intercultural understanding.
• to show the rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe and encourage lifelong language learning.
• It raises awareness among the general public of the importance of language learning and preserving linguistic heritage.”
