Description
This is a fun winter project that aids students in connecting the main idea and supporting details. One of the greater challenges for learners to understand what, how, and why details support the main idea. This project is a fun way to introduce these concepts. Finally, the artistic components of this project creates easy buy-in and a fun way to master this skill.
In this activity, students will organize four snowmen, each containing a different main idea. The largest snowball contains the main idea, while the other two snowballs are the supporting details. Students must identify which supporting details belong with the proper main idea. Once they have found it, then can construct a snowman and decorate it with provided accessories or draw their own!
