Description
This product builds upon the children's knowledge of their times tables from 1 x 2 to 12 x 12. The product contains 132 question cards, 11 cards per times table.
On each card is a large number which denotes the times table the children are working with. Also on the card is a grid which contains four numbers.
To play the game, the children must look at the four numbers and identify which three are multiples of the times table on the card and work out which one is the odd one out.
As the children get better at the activity they can start developing different games with it.
1) Work with one set of cards from one table only.
2) Start adding more groups of cards as the children get more confident in their multiple knowledge.
3) Slowly build up to include all 132 cards.
4) Start timing how many cards the children can complete in 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes etc.
5) Play with a partner. The first player gives the name of the times tables and the four choices - the second player identifies which of the four numbers are multiples and which is the odd one out.
6) EXTENSION: Read out the four numbers and DO NOT tell the player what the times table is. Can the player identify the times table and which number is the odd one out?
There are many more games which students can develop as they become more confident in their math and times tables knowledge.
We hope that your students enjoy these resources as much as ours and continue to learn their math!
Best wishes
