Description

This listing features a two-page modified test about work, mechanical advantage, and simple machines for middle school-aged students taking physical science with an IEP. This test serves as an accommodation for students in need. This assessment complements the first test I published about the topic mentioned above.

This modified test is a simpler version of my original version.

  • In this version, students will answer ten multiple-choice questions in the first section. There are only three answer choices versus four for most of the problems.
  • Students will calculate the force of effort and the mechanical advantage of a machine in the second section. I set up the equations for them that shows the isolated variable.
  • Students can refer to the diagrams for all three classifications of the lever to assist them in classifying the types of levers in section three.
  • Students will classify the six types of machine in part four. I chunked up the last section into two parts. In the first tier, students identify whether the simple machine is an inclined plane, a lever, or a wedge. In the second grouping, students determine whether the simple machine is a wheel and axle, a screw, or a pulley.

I included a complete key with the answers in red font.
