Money Games - Second Grade

This ocean-themed resource includes 2 money games and 1 counting money worksheet.

All materials come in color and black and white.

SHIPWRECK Game

The goal of the game is to get rescued from the shipwreck. A player must collect 5 sea creatures to be rescued from the shipwreck by counting money amounts (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies) as they move around the game board.

SPLASH Game

The goal of the game is to be the first player to color 20 ocean items on their game board.

The players take turns spinning the spinner. When players land on a space containing coins (quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies), they calculate the total amount of money. Next, the players read the code sheet to see what ocean item to color in on their game board.

When players land on SPLASH, they practice their acting skills. On each SPLASH card, players are given a brief scenario to role-play before they answer a money question. The player silently role-plays the scenario as the other players in the group guess what the player is doing. All scenarios take place on a boat in the ocean. For example, You grab your fishing rod, put bait on the hook, and start fishing off the side of the boat.
