Operations With Fractions contains six lessons created to align with the operations with fractions unit in the new Alberta Grade 5 curriculum. Each lesson begins with instructions and examples to introduce new concepts. After that, the teacher does a few practice questions with the class. At this point, students are ready to do questions on their own. Each lesson ends with an optional challenge question. Answer keys are included.

This resource also includes two PowerPoint mini lessons, “Adding and Subtracting Fractions” and "Adding and Subtracting Improper and Mixed Fractions”. In addition, there are two digital math games, which can be used as warm up activities or for review. A quiz is included at the end of the unit.
