This a weekly checklist for students to work on specific skills during the week as a reflection after doing Read-to-Self.
This checklist includes the following sections:
Fiction
- Take a Sneak Peak (Looking at the pictures and making a prediction about the book)
- Stop and Jot (Students using post it notes to mark parts of the book)
- Power of Book (What is book was powerful to you? What made you feel something?)
- Stop, Think, and Retell (Five W's questions)
- Making Connections (Text-to-Text, Text-to-Self, Text-to-World Connections)
- Lesson Learned (What lesson do you think the author wanted to you learn?)
Non-fiction
- Ways to Talk about your thinking (I'm noticing, I'm Learning, I'm Wondering)
