Rest in Peace the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Quartering Act, and Townshend Act!
In this activity, students will be writing their own eulogies for 1 of 4 repealed British acts during the road to the Revolutionary War. Students will show what they know by answering some guided questions about the act and then practice their creative writing skills by writing a eulogy!
I add this activity to my 'Causes of the Revolution' unit after teaching my students about the Townshend Act. To make the activity a little more immersive, try playing a funeral dirge in the background when students share their eulogies! My students had a blast getting into character and fake crying for the gone-but-never-forgotten British acts!
