Description

Serenity is an excellent song for first-year recorder players. They will need to know five notes - E, G, A, B, and C. The rhythm is mostly quarter notes and eighth notes. There are also student parts for xylophone, ukulele, guitar, and choreography. Use as many or as few as you like. They all fit together with the accompaniment link.

The song starts with a four-bar introduction. After that, the chord progression is Am, F, G, C. The chords change every two beats and the pattern continues until the end of the song.

There are two countermelodies that repeat over and over. They are found in the recorder, ukulele, and xylophone parts. The students can memorize these easily since the sections and choreography are repetitive.

We used this as a performance piece. The kids caught on quickly and there was a job for everyone. It had multiple instrument parts. It also had choreography. Thanks!
