This lesson has three sections.

The first section starts off with an inset box that contains an overview of rules that govern which digits are significant along with several examples. Students then identify how many significant figures are in each presented number.

The second section starts off with an explanation of the multiplication/division rule in the header, followed by ten multiplication/division problems.

The third section features the addition/subtraction rule in the header, followed by twelve accompanying problems.
