When your students use these skills-based reading logs during their independent reading time, you can rest assured that they will be actively engaged! Unlike traditional reading logs that simply have students record a list of books, these logs require students to actually interact with the text they've read.
This pack includes a set of logs for use with fiction/literature and a set for non-fiction/informational text. I've pulled the skills from the CCSS reading standards. Each log has the standard clearly indicated at the top so you can easily locate and copy a log that correlates with each reading skill you want to focus on. In addition to the standards-based logs, there is another set of engaging logs that don't necessarily align with a particular standard, like creating alternate endings to the books, sharing text-to-self connections, etc. There are 36 reading logs in total, so you can use them all school year!
