This bundle includes 5 resources linked to the Space Race from 1969-2020.

These products work together to support and embed the development of knowledge of key dates, key "firsts" and key people involved in the Space Race from the first man in space (Uri Gagarin) in 1969 to the first privatised shuttle launch with Space X in 2020.

They encourage the children to think about the most important achievements, people and events within the Space Race from 1969 - 2020 - and prioritise the people involved through an imaginary "dinner party" hosted by Uri Gagarin with 12 other significant space explorers.

In undertaking this activity, the children will learn deeply, as they must justify their own opinions through evidence and understanding how each of the people led to significant steps forward in Space Travel, including:

• The "first" achievements
• Progress of countries within the space race from 1969 - 2020
• The people involved in space travel, their nationalities and their legacy
• Impact their actions had on the space race and subsequent space travel
