Spanish-American War DBQ

Students analyze 16 documents (8 text based and 8 images), answer 16 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the Spanish-American War. There are 7 prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub!  ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***

Sample questions include:
--Explain which cause of the war Document 1 would most connect to and why.
--Explain the role of Document 4’s images in the context of the war.
--Would Sumner have supported American Imperialism, why or why not?
--How does Document 9 reflect one perspective of American Identity at the time? 
--Compare and contrast the point of view of the images in Document 12.
--Is Document 15 for or against the war, and on what grounds?
