Description
This 90-minute lesson will help human anatomy and physiology students compare, contrast, locate and remember the significant systemic arteries. The activity houses two large tables featuring 38 key arteries and artery pairs. The student's mission is to identify each conductance vessel’s body region, the vessel from which it receives blood, and the vessel(s) to which it transports blood. In addition, students can use the full-page word bank divvied by the column header I provided – one side for each table.
This reinforcement lesson highlights the following major arteries and artery sets: abdominal aorta, anterior tibial, aortic arch, ascending aorta, axillary, basilar, brachial, brachiocephalic, celiac, Circle of Willis, common carotid, common iliac, coronary, descending aorta, dorsalis pedis, external carotid, external iliac, femoral, gastric, gonadal, hepatic, inferior mesenteric, intercostal, internal carotid, internal iliac, lumbar, popliteal, posterior tibial, radial, renal, splenic, subclavian, superior mesenteric, thoracic aorta, ulnar and vertebral.
