Description
Students will analyze 17 documents (8 text based and 8 visual), answer 17 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the home front for the Civil War. There are 8 essay prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***
Sample questions include:
--Identify an event that could have caused document 2.
--Provide an academic term/phrase associated with Document 4 and explain its purpose.
--How does document 7 bridge the war itself and the home front?
--Does document 10 reflect a change or a continuity on the home front and why?
--Identify and explain a cause and effect of Document 11.
--Rewrite document 12 in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Summarize the historical context of document 14.
