Description
Students will review key causes of the Civil War and events from the Civil War itself with this timeline stations and map activity. They will put together one timeline with 11 events and write academic identifications (and add 1 of their own). They will then match 11 other events to their identification, expand on the identification, and put them in chronological order. The third station (or task) is image analysis and the final station (or task) is a map with 18 labels (plus identifying the states and territories at the time).
Sample timeline items include the Battle of Gettysburg, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, South Carolina's secession, the Compromise of 1850, the Battle of Antietam, Lincoln's assassination, John Brown's Raid, the Siege of Vicksburg, and more!
Teacher information and the answers are included where appropriate. This would be great for a sub if used as an individual or pairs packet!
