The End of the Cold War Timeline Map Image Analysis Stations Activity

Students will review 24 events that led to the end of the Cold War with this timeline stations and map activity. They will put together one timeline with 12 events and write academic identifications (and add 1 of their own). They will then match 12 other events to their identification, expand on the identification, and put them in chronological order. The third station (or task) is image analysis and the final station (or task) is a map with 30 labels.

Sample timeline items include the Summer Olympics boycott, reunification of Germany, Soviets withdraw from Afghanistan, INF Treaty, perestroika and glasnost, START 1 signed, Malta Summit, "Tear Down This Wall," and more!

Teacher information and the answers are included where appropriate. This would be great for a sub if used as an individual or pairs packet!
