There are review games and sorting charts, interview activities, and an Election of 1904 campaign project. A selection of topics and campaign items to create is provided to get the students on the right track. They must write a speech, a newspaper article, and complete 7 other creative tasks of their choosing, clearly explained in the instructions. There is also a learning packet with an overview, quotes, and images related to Progressive Era reformers for students to work with in multiple ways.
Students will also match 20 images to a caption or dialogue exchange, complete a DBQ, and analyze Lochner v. NY, New Nationalism, New Freedom, Meatpacking Plants, and Roosevelt Corollary texts (some include images to analyze), conservation point of view, as well as various women's suffrage texts. They can also create trading cards, cubes, or a pamphlet highlighting social concerns and Muckrakers (among other requirements) and will compare and contrast W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T. Washington.
Lastly, there is an editable assessment with multiple choice, short answer, true/false/fix, matching, a sorting chart, and image analysis questions. Answer keys/point distributions are included where appropriate. Many of the activities would be great for a sub!
