Activity Option 1: Using the Graphic Organizer, students are asked to…
  • 1. Describe the different sections of Egyptian society and why they were important to Ancient Egypt:
  • 2. Describe what problems society would have if Egypt didn’t have this group in their society:
 
Activity Option 2: For this option, students are given a box chart. On this box chart, they will select 4 classes from Egypt and complete the following task:
  • Part A – Students describe their role and importance in society
  • Part B – Students rate their importance to Egyptian society on a scale of 1-4
1 – Easiest/Best life
4 – Most Difficult/Hardest Life
  • Part C - Students justify the rating, using evidence and examples from the reading to support it.
Activity Option 3: Students Create a society in ancient Egypt by only choosing 4 of the 7 groups
 
After selecting four groups, students explain their importance and the advantages/disadvantages of the society they created. Afterward, some analysis questions on the social hierarchy are asked.
