Description
This Too Shall Pass is a medical case study following a patient who is experiencing nephrolithiasis ( kidney stone). The patient seems many healthcare disciplines as he is treated in the Emergency Department. Students will work though the case learning/ reviewing medical terminology, abbreviations, and discover the various diagnostics and therapeutics used for the provider to make the diagnosis. Various healthcare disciplines involved in the care will be noted by the student. Drawing and labeling of urinary structures is included, along with assessment of vital signs, symptoms and labs. Students will discover common medications used in treating the diagnosis.

I typically assign a case study to be done in groups of two, but this can be an individual assignment as well.
