US History Digital Card Sorts/Review Activities | STAAR 8th Grade Social Studies

Need a comprehensive digital review for the STAAR Social Studies? This 16 page drag and drop activity is completed entirely through Google Slides! It may be especially useful for students who are still engaged in distance learning, or simply need to work independently. You can choose to give your students all the slides at once or pick and choose certain pages based on need.

Every major era is addressed, focusing on the anchoring TEKS/readiness standards, plus many frequently tested supporting standards. The tasks include primarily sorting, categorizing, matching, sequencing of the main concepts, events, and vocabulary. Color-coding makes it easy for students to understand what to do on pages that have multiple steps. Finally, the wording aligns closely to terminology used on past STAAR tests.

An answer key is included, which could also be given to students as a last-minute study guide.

Each page also references the TEKS that are addressed in that activity. Readiness TEKS are shown in RED.
