Description

In this, WWII Era: Bracero Program, lesson your students will research the following questions: Who benefited most from the Bracero Program that was used over 22 years? (1941-1964) What were the positives and negatives of the program? What were the results?

 Your students will:

1) Warm-up: watch a short public access video and complete a corresponding worksheet introducing the Bracero Program.

2) Complete overview notes on the Bracero Program (who, what, when etc.) on a graphic organizer while the teacher projects a full color power-point

3) Be placed into small groups to examine 18 artifacts (primary sources) and write down their observations on the provided chart. (Guiding questions included)

4) Complete an extension (Exit Card) activity connecting the Bracero Program to present day events.
