Valentine's Day Coordinates: MATH 4 Quadrants, 4 Challenges, Answer Key and Resources

In time for St Valentine's Day - we have produced these four St Valentine's Day themed images mapped onto a four quadrant grid.

Engaging for students of all ages, but particularly within math at Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5, these activities provide the students with a range of secret images of growing complexity using coordinates within four quadrants in each of the designs.

The four designs are:

• A large heart covering all four quadrants (easy level)
• "Love" (easy level)
• "Love" (medium level)
• Flower and hearts (challenging level)

The students have no idea what the designs are until they have completed plotting and joining all of the coordinates - then the secret is revealed and the students can color their designs to finish ready for St Valentine's Day celebrations. There is a clue on each of the coordinate sheets which allows students to predict what they might be revealing.

Great for differentiation as the activities develop in complexity, which also allows the students to work through each one at increasing difficulty, or allow them to select the level of challenge they wish to complete.

Each design is placed on a different grid for each creation - included within the resource. An answer key for each is also provided which allows the teacher to see quickly if the students have been accurate with their plotting. The color version can be used to show students how their designs could look when colored and completed.

Great for St. Valentine's Day activities, early morning work, home learning and math centers - not to mention teaching coordinates in February to embed learning in a meaningful activity.
