Veterans Day Webquest and Activities

These Veterans Day activities (6 question webquest, 4 reflection questions, 2 creative tasks, presidential proclamation analysis) will give students a basic understanding of the history of Veterans Day and has them explore their thoughts on it. The answers are included where appropriate this could work with a sub! ***UPDATED TO INCLUDE 4 presidential Veterans Day proclamations with discussion questions and a word cloud activity.***

Sample questions include:
--Describe the transition of the holiday from Armistice Day to Veterans Day. 
--Why did President Ford sign a law permanently putting the observation of Veterans Day on November 11 each year? 
--What are 2 other questions you would ask someone in the military, and why? 
--Why do you think it took until World War 1 for such a day to be observed? How might a veteran of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, and Spanish-American War feel about it?
