Description
Students will learn about the women who served during WW2 (WWII) as code breakers by watching a 6 minute video, visiting 4 websites, and answering 14 questions (academic, opinion, and creative). The answers are included and this would work for both US History or World History!
Sample questions include:
--What do you think of the screener questions asked by the astronomy professor? What might 2 or 3 screener questions be today if a similar job were recruiting women?
--Why might the phrase, “conveyer belt” have been used to describe the wartime communications to be deciphered?
--How could Mundy be considered a code breaker in her own right?
--Compare and contrast the perceptions/qualities of men and women and explain why the military ended up recruiting so many women to become code breakers.
