This guided free write activity will support your students in showing how they can use the Super 7 Verbs in writing. This activity has students roll a die (set of dice) to determine their character, setting, and main problem in their writing. With 6 unique characters, settings, and problems your students will create numerous engaging stories during their free write time. Each prompt leads students toward use of the Super 7 verbs in Spanish (quiere, tiene, va, está, es, le gusta, hay). What is a free write & how do I use one?

A free write is an opportunity for students to show what they know. Typically they are unstructured. These are guided free writes, providing your students with a little structure (the super 7 verbs in Spanish) and ideas (topics). Most free writes are timed between 10-15 minutes. this allows students to show what they know, but not endlessly stress about how long to write. This guided free write also includes a spaced, word counted writing sheet. This helps students that are given a word count goal to focus on writing and not re-counting their words. This guided free write also includes an ACTFL based rubric to score/grade if you choose.
