Description

This clearly outlined spelling routine with differentiation options explained is wonderful for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. It is classroom tested. Using this product and the routine explained in the teacher's guide will create critical thinkers, help your kids practice fluency, and provide collaborative learning opportunities with its variety of different activities.  Use the activities in conjunction with my YouTube video Short Vowels a and i. This video has a QR code with the link on day 2 of the activity. This week's worth of activities are aligned with 3rd Grade Wonders Unit 1 Week 1, however, anyone who is studying short vowels would benefit from using these materials with their class. These will provide great opportunities for your kids to practice the skill for the week in many different ways. I recommend uploading it to your favorite digital platform or printing off the pages. This activity includes:

-The teacher guide/ word page

This page has directions for you plus a page ready for you to print and put words up for my special twist on "Write the Room."

-Write the Room

Kids collaborate to figure out the sound/ spelling pattern for the week as they find and write the words that are hidden around the room.

-This Week Is

This is a page for kids to complete a sound/ spelling sort and practice words in a sentence.

-Search for Words With

This is a fluency/ decodable passage. Kids will read the passage more than once to find the sound/ spelling patterns for the week.

-Sorting Words With

Students are instructed to look for and label their own sound/ spelling patterns.

-Find the Hidden Words

On this page words for the week are hidden in pictures. They must be found and sorted. Next students must think of words of their own that fit the sound/ spelling pattern for the week.
