This is a, "We Do, You Do" assignment to get your students practicing concepts and skills from the entire 8th grade year. "We Do, You Do," assignments are designed so that students get to see how a problem is worked out to refresh their memory over a concept before working a similar problem out on their own. The assignment is set up for scaffolded review of concepts already learned. The first column is designed as a, "We-Do," problem to refresh the students on a concept. Then, the next two are designed for individual or group work.

This spiral review includes the following skills:

  • Combining like terms
  • Solving multi-step equations
  • Determining a Function from a graph, table, and set of points
  • Identifying slope (rate of change) and y-intercept from an equation and graph
  • Graphing a system of equation in slope-intercept form and finding the solution
  • Identifying proportional and non-proportional relationships from a graph and a word problem.

  • Finding lateral and total surface area of rectangular and triangular prisms and cylinders
  • Finding volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres
  • Using Scatter Plots to answer questions about positive and negative associations
  • Finding the Mean Absolute Deviation
  • Using data plots and trend lines to make predictions
  • Calculating and comparing simple and compound interest and totals
